Circet Ireland are looking for an experienced Civils Operative to work on Rail works at various site locations around Ireland. 

Under the direction of the Project Manager & Site Agents, applicants will be required to perform excavations, repairs and reinstatement's, installation of ducting, chambers and cabinets and the installation of cable along existing the rail infrastructure.  They will be required to work to standard operating procedures within programme timelines and in full compliance to current legislation, health and safety requirements and company policies.

Experience working in a railway environment is an advantage but not essential as full training can be provided to the successful candidates.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Installation of duct, chambers, foundations, fencing, cabinets & associated equipment in a railway and public road environment
  • Installation of cabling in ducting and troughing along railway lines for the purpose of new signalling infrastructure  
  • Working shift work in accordance with available railway possessions so there will be requirement to alternate between night time and daytime shifts. 
  • Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws / Wacker plates / trench compactor / mini digger / jack hammer and hold the correct certification to complete the works.  Plant operator training may be provided in order to enhance the candidates skillset
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for daily works (job sheets / risk assessments / plant sheets / driver checks)
  • Experience of risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities.
  • To be responsible for the company assets & plant assigned for the purpose of performing your duties.
  • To treat internal and external customers with respect and provide support at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures
  • Experience in a similar operational or engineering environment within a railway environment would be an advantage but not essential
  • Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients.
  • The successful candidate will hold a full drivers licence and have a minimum 1 year proven driving experience

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

•         Full drivers licence and have a minimum 1 year proven driving experience
•         Experience in a similar operational or engineering environment
•         Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients
•         Experience using iPad for work planning and updates
•         Desirable tickets: First Aid, Abrasive Wheels, 360, LUGS, SLG
