Circet Ireland are looking for an experienced Construction Programmer for our team based in GHQ Clondalkin, Co. Dublin.  The role will be office based with site visits and potential for some hybrid working. 

The successful candidate will lead the preparation and updating of project programmes for tender submissions and operational projects for large scale power, civil engineering and other utilities projects.  The ideal candidate will have previous construction, civil engineering or utilities experience with expertise in developing and updating programmes.  The Construction Programmer will use specialised programming software to ensure that construction timelines are realistic, track progress, and support resource allocation, ultimately ensuring on-time and on-budget project delivery.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 
  1. Project Scheduling – Develop logical and detailed project schedules using software programs, preferably MS Project but Primavera P6 also acceptable.
  2. Resource Allocation – Plan resources, equipment, and material requirements to optimize efficiency.
  3. Critical Path Analysis – Identify key project activities and update programs in response to changes in scope or unforeseen events.
  4. Progress Monitoring – Track project milestones against baseline and report on progress to senior management for live projects.
  5. Risk Assessment & Mitigation – Identify potential delays and risks and propose solutions to maintain project timelines.
  6. Coordination with Project Teams – Work with engineers, site managers, and site teams to to gather scheduling data and update timelines accordingly.
  7. Cost & Time Estimation – Assist in developing cost-effective project plans and estimating completion times.  Cost loading of programmes where required.
  8. Change Management – Update schedules based on design changes, delays, or unforeseen issues.
  9. Generate reports, Gantt charts, and visual timelines for internal teams and client presentations
  10. Support the preparation of extension-of-time claims and delay analysis as required.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
 
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in construction programming or project scheduling.
  • Proficient in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and critical path methodology.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
