Circet Data Centre Services are hiring experienced Data Technicians.  


The Data Technician will be responsible for the physical installation, maintenance, and testing of network infrastructure within data centres. This role involves hands-on work with fibre optics, copper cabling, and structured cabling systems to ensure optimal connectivity and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of Cable Runways: Set up and maintain cable management systems for efficient routing of fibre and copper cables.
  • Rack & Stack: Install and configure servers, switches, and other hardware into racks according to design specifications.
  • Fibre Patching Installations: Perform accurate fibre optic patching between network devices and panels.
  • Cat6 Cable Installations: Run and terminate Cat6 cables for network connectivity, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Splicing: Carry out fibre optic splicing with precision, adhering to industry best practices for low-loss connections.
  • Cable Runway Installations: Implement structured pathways for cables to maintain organization and airflow.
  • Testing: Conduct fibre and Cat6 cable testing using OTDR, OLTS, and other diagnostic tools to verify performance and integrity.
  • Labelling & Documentation: Ensure all cables and connections are properly labelled and maintain accurate records of installations.
  • Compliance: Follow health and safety guidelines and adhere to company standards for quality and security.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in data centre environments or similar technical roles.
  • Proficiency in fibre optic splicing and copper cabling techniques.
  • Familiarity with OTDR and other cable testing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Fibre Optic Technician, Structured Cabling).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
