Head of Design (Wireless Division – UK)

Hybrid / Multi-Site | Full-Time | Senior Leadership Role

Circet UK is seeking an experienced Head of Design to oversee and manage telecoms design activities across our Wireless Business Units.

What You’ll Be Doing
Strategic Design Leadership

  • Lead the creation and implementation of design standards, processes, and best practices across all Circet Wireless Business Units.

  • Act as the design authority and subject-matter expert for internal consultation, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, workflows, and templates to support efficient and consistent design delivery.

  • Promote and model high standards of professional and technical competence within the design function.

Design Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Support design managers in identifying, assessing, and managing technical risks throughout the design lifecycle.

  • Review and quality-control design documents ahead of submission to clients and stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Participate in competency assessments to ensure employees and suppliers meet required technical standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement in design quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Engage directly with clients, consultants, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure design solutions meet operational and commercial objectives.

  • Collaborate with site designers and project teams to assemble and submit design documentation and drawings for wireless infrastructure projects.

  • Support designers in securing necessary consents and approvals from property owners and relevant authorities.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor design managers and team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.

  • Manage additional design team members as the department grows, ensuring resource planning aligns with business needs.


What You’ll Need

Experience

  • Extensive background in telecommunications wireless network design and cell site construction.

  • Strong expertise in telecoms design standards, compliance, and industry regulations.

  • Proven experience in managing design dependencies and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

  • Prior experience leading design teams and delivering complex wireless infrastructure projects


Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent organisation and planning skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with designers, contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies.

  • Adept in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).

  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.


Qualifications

  • Relevant engineering, telecommunications, or wireless network design credentials (essential).

  • Professional certifications in telecoms design, project management, or related disciplines (desirable).

  • Familiarity with health and safety standards and telecoms compliance requirements.
